An industry-recognised skincare educator, facial massage expert, speaker, and author with over 35 years of experience empowering professionals and individuals to achieve radiant, confident skin.

Jana Elston

My passion for skin science and holistic wellness began at 19, inspired by my personal journey overcoming acne. I graduated with a Diploma in Beauty Therapy and quickly discovered my love for education and mentoring. Over the decades, I’ve blended hands-on experience with science-backed knowledge, delivering transformative education across Australia.

One of my areas of expertise, and what clients and professionals seek me out for, is advanced facial massage.

Drawing on techniques from Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, I specialise in lifting, sculpting, and rejuvenating facial massage methods that combine traditional touch with modern tools. My techniques include effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, lymphatic drainage, acupressure, and facial toning — delivered by hand or using gua sha, facial cups, ice globes, sculpting wands, ridoki rollers, and acupressure pens.

Clients often tell me they’ve never experienced anything like it. And now, with demand for non-invasive facial rejuvenation at an all-time high, I train beauty professionals to master these techniques through live education, workshops, and in-salon coaching, empowering them to deliver results that set them apart.

As a former National Training Manager for a leading pharmaceutical company, I’ve travelled nationally educating pharmacy teams and health professionals. I've also held senior roles as NSW Business Development Manager, Account Manager, and Social Media Manager, helping brands grow and connect deeply with their audiences.

Over the years, I’ve trained beauty therapists (many now running their own thriving clinics), and supported clients in transforming not only their skin, but their self-confidence.

Today, I continue to share my knowledge as a speaker, course creator, and host of the Skincare Teacher Beauty Tips podcast. I’m also the author of several books and downloadable resources designed to educate, inspire, and guide professionals and consumers alike.

You’ll also find me actively engaging with a supportive online community of over 10,000 followers on Facebook, where I share skincare tips, seasonal routines, and daily inspiration for confident, glowing skin.

I believe skincare is more than a routine, it’s a relationship with yourself. My mission is to help people understand their skin, care for it deeply, and choose practices that are grounded in both science and self-care.

I thought it's an excellent question because, because with so many people talking about these skin rejuvenating treatments, it can be quite confusing.  Micro-needling and chemical peels are two different modalities used for various purposes. CONGESTION: a cluster of small, deep, skin coloured, painless, stubborn lumps / bumps on the skin

Congestion can be a stubborn problem to clear, it can linger and be a real nuisance. In oil related congestion, the sebum is thick and waxy and has settled deep down in the hair follicle. Usually found around the chin and cheeks, it feels like a cluster of small, deep lumps under the skin. Congestion is usually skin colored , is not painful and does not itch. Once it appears, it usually just sits there and does not clear on its own. The waxy sebum can be a result of poor nutrition, certain food intolerance, a sluggish metabolism, hormones,  not drinking enough water, etc. and  if left untreated, can potentially lead to ruptured follicles, papules and painful lesions or acne.  To clear it, the waxy sebum has to be broken down, liquefied , and allowed to flow freely to the surface.  If congestion occurs around the jawline and cheeks, and occasionally on the neck, then it is either caused by over nourishing products or it's an internal problem, where the bod...
