THE ESSENTIALS OF A GOOD DAILY SKINCARE ROUTINE

THE ESSENTIALS OF A GOOD DAILY SKINCARE ROUTINE

People always ask me what I use and what they should be using on their skin to help clear imperfections and keep the skin looking younger and healthy. Every skin is different and will need an individual approach. Just because a friend has tried something and it worked on their skin, does not mean it will be good for your skin. In fact, I hear many people try something their friends or family have recomended only to be dissapointed.

Perhaps the most important and frequent tip I give my clients is this: before you do anything else, get the basics right. And do this consistently. Your skin needs to be in optimum condition to respond to corrective treatments efficiently.  If you do this, you will be rewarded with a healthy, glowing skin.

THE ESSENTIALS OF A GOOD DAILY SKINCARE ROUTINE

Here are the most important beauty / skin care products everyone should be using:

1. Cleanse morning and night

Invest in a good quality cleanser and toner for a complete cleansing ritual. Cleansers that are best not only cleanse your skin to remove makeup, dirt and pollution but also address specific skin conditions you may have such as pigmentation, acne, ageing or sensitive skin. The toners likewise should pH balance and hydrate your skin as well as address your ckin concerns. This is how you get best results, you begin treating your skin with the right cleanser and toner.

2. Exfoliate regularly

Every skin is unique and responds differently to the various exfoliants. Some people can use scrubs, others need to use enzyme exfoliant, gommage or AHA type exfoliant. Talk to your beauty therapist to get advice on the best exfoliant for your skin, then use it according to directions. Some people need to use exfoliants once a week other 2-3 times a weeek. Be veru careful not to overexfoliate your skin because this can cause other problems.

3. Moisturize daily

Hydrating your skin and protecting it from environmental stress and pollution is absolutely essential to keep your skin bright, radiant healthy looking and youthful. Find the best moisturiser you can afford and use it religiously. This will reward you with a beautiful skin for longer. Look for moisturisers with antioxidants and anti-ageing actives to preserve the youth of your skin.

4. Wear a broad spectum sunscreen every day, hail or shine.

There are no excuses when it comes to protecting your skin from the sun. It is a well know fact that the sun is very damaging to the skin, and you don't have to be out very long to see the results of this damage. Just a few minutes every day can accumulate to hours every week. If you see daylight, your skin can get sun damaged, which will result in pigmentation, couperose, premature wrinkles and sagging of the skin, not to mention skin cancers. Every morning apply your sunscreen before you leave your home to reduce the amount of UV your skin is exposed to to help protect your skin.

Talk to a trained beauty therapist / esthetician because they understand how the skin works, they have been trained to identify skin types and conditions and know which products will help to address your individual skin concerns. Beuaty therapists have access to professional strength skincare products formulated to improve the skin, so do follow their advice when they make the recomendations.
