BENEFITS OF FACIAL MASSAGE

Facial massage is not only relaxing, but it is also an essential step in facial treatments to deliver beautiful results.

Here are some benefits of facial massage:

  1. Releases muscle tension, easing pain and relaxing wrinkles
  2. Increases micro-circulation, boosting skin healing, repair, and skin rejuvenation
  3. Tones the muscles, lifting facial features and supporting the skin
  4. Stimulates collagen production, plumps out wrinkles, firms & tightens the skin
  5. Improves lymphatic drainage, reducing fluid build up, puffiness; speeds the cleating of acne & skin inflammation
  6. Enhances penetration of active serums for enhanced results

A well-experienced beauty therapist will have a good understanding of the facial anatomy and be able to customize facial massage for your individual needs. They will select from a number of techniques to help you achieve best results including:

Swedish massage

Acupressure

Shiatsu

Japanese style technique that can be light or firm working on the meridians and acupressure points to bring balance back to the body. This technique can also be used on the head, face, neck, and decolletage. An intuitive approach, the practitioner will seek out areas of imbalance and will apply massage techniques to restore balance. Improves skin healing and rejuvenation.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

A gentle manual stimulation of the lymphatic system to drain away waste materials to reduce fluid retention, puffiness, and toxic breakouts. Excellent for puffy eyes and face, double chin, skin congestion and adult acne.

Aromatherapy

Not a massage technique in itself, but often used with the above massage techniques, aromatherapy is the use and application of selected botanical essential oils to improve skin health. Oils are selected to help ease any number of skin conditions including scarring, rashes, wounds, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, acne, pigmentation, and aging. Aromatherapy also acts on the nervous system and helps to relieve anxiety, stress, fatigue, and helps lift the mood and spirit.
So as you can see, having a facial that includes a good massage is not relaxing but quite therapeutic for the skin, the mind and the body.  If you would like to see improved and enhanced results with your facial treatments, always select facials which include a good massage. The best and most important benefit is that there is no downtime and no negative side effects of facial massage. The various massage techniques can be applied as needed for any skin type or condition.
